MoorJam 2025 Brings District Together at Barnswood

Date: 6th Aug 2026 Author: Scout Websites
MoorJam 2025 saw Scouts from across the District come together for an amazing weekend of adventure, friendship, and fun at Barnswood Scout Camp. This marked the second time the District camp has taken place, and once again it proved to be a huge success.

Over the course of the camp, 160 young people and 75 adult volunteers were on site, taking part in a packed programme of activities designed to challenge, inspire, and entertain Scouts of all ages.

One of the highlights of the weekend was a trip to Tittesworth Watersports Centre, where young people had the opportunity to take part in a range of exciting watersports, pushing themselves outside their comfort zones and building confidence on the water.

Back at Barnswood, there was no shortage of activities to choose from. On‑site sessions included:

  • Caving
  • Rifle shooting
  • Archery
  • An athletics competition
  • Crafts
  • A popular milkshake bar
  • And even the chance to have a go on a mini digger, which quickly became a firm favourite!

On Saturday evening, the whole District came together to enjoy a District BBQ and hog roast, providing a great opportunity for everyone to relax, refuel, and catch up with friends from across the District. Following the meal, the celebrations continued with a District campfire, where each group ran a song or skit. The evening was filled with laughter, creativity, and plenty of Scout spirit, making it one of the standout moments of the weekend.

MoorJam 2025 was a fantastic example of what Scouting does best — bringing young people together, offering new experiences, and creating lasting memories. A huge thank you goes to all the leaders, volunteers, and helpers who made the event possible.

With such a successful weekend behind us, we’re already looking ahead to the next MoorJam in 2028, and we can’t wait to do it all again!
