District International Teams Meet Up at Barnswood Camp
Scouts and Explorers from across the District recently came together for a successful camp at Barnswood Scout Campsite, marking the first official meet up for our District’s international teams.
With two international trips planned, the camp gave young people and leaders the chance to meet one another, start building friendships, and begin working as teams.
The District is currently running trips to:
- Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) – taking place from 28 December 2026 to 3 January 2027, with 18 young people and 6 adults
- Haarlem Jamborette 2027 – with 22 young people and 8 adults
Both teams are made up of Scouts and Explorers from groups across the District, bringing together young people who may not have previously met but will soon be sharing unforgettable international experiences together.
During the Barnswood camp, participants took part in a range of ice breaker games and team building challenges, designed to help everyone get to know each other and start developing trust, communication, and teamwork skills. The weekend provided a relaxed and welcoming environment, helping to set a positive tone for the exciting journey ahead.
One of the highlights of the camp was joining Scouts from Macclesfield District for a lively evening campfire, filled with songs, laughter, and Scout spirit. It was a great opportunity to connect with others and celebrate the wider Scouting community.
This camp was an important first step in preparing our international teams, and it was fantastic to see young people from across the District working together so well. We’re looking forward to future meet ups as plans continue to develop for both international adventures.
